Itinerary Trekking Rinjani Summit
Day 1 Trekking Rinjani Summit – Sembalun Village to Sembalun Crater Rim
- 06:00 AM – Wake up and have breakfast.
- 07:00 AM – Pick up from your hotel, then transfer to the hospital for a medical check-up. Afterward, continue the drive to Sembalun Village (1,156m), about 45 minutes.
- Upon arrival in Sembalun, complete the registration at the Rinjani National Park office before starting the trek. Don’t forget to apply sunblock, as the first day trek will mostly cross open savanna.
- 09:00 AM – Begin trekking to Pos 1 (1,300m), about 2 hours. Take a short rest with drinks and snacks.
- Continue to Pos 2 (1,400m), 30 minutes walk. Rest for 1–2 hours while porters prepare your lunch.
- After lunch, continue hiking to Pos 3 (1,800m), about 1 hour. Take a short break before the next steep climb.
- From Pos 3, trek uphill for about 3.5 hours to reach Sembalun Crater Rim (2,641m). Normal arrival time is around 03:00 PM depending on pace.
- Enjoy the stunning sunset view over Segara Anak Lake, Mount Agung in Bali, and the Gili Islands, while porters serve tea/coffee and fried bananas. Dinner will be served at the campsite. Rest early for the summit climb.
Day 2 – Summit Attack & Descent to Segara Anak Lake
- 02:00 AM – Wake up, have a light breakfast, then begin the summit attack.
- 02:30 AM – Start climbing to Mount Rinjani Summit (3,726m). It takes about 3 hours with a challenging sandy trail.
- 05:30 AM – Reach the summit just in time for sunrise. From the top, enjoy breathtaking views of Segara Anak Lake, Mount Baru Jari, Mount Tambora, Mount Agung in Bali, Sumbawa, and the Gili Islands.
- After sunrise, descend back to the campsite at the crater rim for a full breakfast.
- 08:00 AM – Continue trekking down to Segara Anak Lake (2,000m), about 3 hours. Upon arrival, porters will prepare lunch. While waiting, you can soak in the natural hot spring (10 minutes walk) or swim in the lake.
- After lunch, continue trekking uphill for about 3 hours to reach Senaru Crater Rim (2,639m). From here, you will enjoy another stunning sunset with views towards Mount Agung and the Gili Islands. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.
Day 3 – Senaru Crater Rim to Senaru Village
- 06:00 AM – Wake up and enjoy breakfast with mountain views.
- After breakfast, begin the descent through the tropical forest back to Senaru Village (601m). The trek takes about 6 hours including lunch break along the way.
- Along the trail, you may encounter gray monkeys, black monkeys, and other wildlife.
- Upon arrival at the Senaru entrance gate, transport will be waiting to take you back to the office and transfer you to your next destination (Bangsal harbor, Senggigi, Mataram, Lombok Airport, etc.).
